YES. We have noticed some major changes in our lives recently. You are not alone. We wanted to let you know that we are still available to help you with your legal questions and concerns, and can be reached by phone, email, mail, and, as appropriate, in person. We are in the office daily, although support staff is working on a more limited basis. It’s a good idea to call before coming to the office.

Courthouses are open, but they have made some temporary adjustments to their usual procedures, such as limiting contact within the courthouse. We are going to court as necessary. If you have an emergency, your case should be scheduled for a hearing within a very short time. Most non-emergency matters are being rescheduled for approximately thirty days. We are in contact with judges and rescheduling hearings on a case by case basis.

In light of the current health crisis confronting much of the world, some of our clients have requested assistance in preparing or updating advance healthcare directives, medical powers of attorney and general durable powers of attorney, as well as revisions to wills and trusts. Please let us know if we can help with any of these issues. The functioning of the courts, like that of most other institutions and businesses throughout the U.S., has changed a little recently.
